I was around 6 when the premiere of Superman came to my home town. My mum was a little concerned for me watching that movie since some kids tried to emulate Superman and killed themselves and she told me that Maybe we could go some months later. Don't ask me how but I maturely told her "don't worry, mum, bring me to the other movie". The other movie in town was, luckily, The Blues Brothers. I immediately got amazed by the music of James Brown, Aretha, Ray, John Lee Hooker, etc...but, I was just a kid and my mum wouldn't even notice how deep the movie got into a 6 year old child. So, it just passed and I forgot about music till I was 12. As strange as it May sound, I approached music after I first listened to Vangelis music. I was around 12 and I told my mum "I want to play piano". My parents bought me a small portable Yamaha keyboard (one of those with tiny keys).
 
For some years, I developed my music and, specially, my composing around the styles of Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre or Mike Oldfield. However, at age of 16, when I already liked Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, etc...I could watch the movie again. My reaction to the music was the same to the first time I saw it when I was 6, however this time I needed to find out more on the Blues Brothers and I bought their CDs. When I first heard their Green Onions live (played by Paul Shaffer) I got in love with the tune and searched for all info about Booker T. & the MGs. That was the sound, man. I mean, all the keyboard parts I loved from my rock/blues idols where played by an organ named Hammond and I could only realize when I first listened to Booker T. Jones. After that I started searching Hammond music and I did not stopped until today.
