Jackie Ivory
Jackie (*1937 in Arkansas) - his real name is Grant Ivory jr. - received his first piano lessons by his mother. Later, he took private lessons which ended up with a piano trio with Carl Shane and Robert Cobb. After having graduated from Central High School in 1955, Jackie moved to East Chicago, IN, where he worked at Inland Steel Mill, playing music on the weekends. The years 1959 till 1962 saw Jackie in the army, primarily in Germany.

After an Honorable Discharge, he played with Don Davis, guitar, before starting a Hammond B-3 trio (organ, sax, drums). He toured across the USA, Canada and Europe for more than 14 years, and worked together with (among others) Willis Jackson, Junior Walker, Etta Jones, John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, Grant Green and Paul Gonzales.

Jackie passed away in August 2013.
