Ernst HalterErnst Halter (*1961) as a child first started playing accordion. At the age of 17 he switched to the electronic organ, to be able to play more popular music. Many years he performed as a musical entertainer at weddings, dancing and other events. His playing on the bass pedals was his trademark from the beginning. Later, he definitely was infected with the Hammond virus. He discovered his love for the legendary Hammond organ and bought two Hammond organs, an A100 with a Leslie 122 and a Hammond XK system with a Leslie 3300. The jazz music on this beautiful instruments became his preferred music style.
After music lessons on the accordion, at age 17, he started to play the organ. At age 25, Ernst Halter graduated from Jazz School Luzern/Switzerland. He studied the basics in playing the Hammond organ with Peter Dennler/Switzerland. In 2011 and 2013, he joined masterclasses with Tony Monaco and Alberto Marsico in Italy; both were very important for his further musical development. Ernst plays the Hammond organ in various groups, as soloist and sideman. There are his trio "OrganSwing Group" with organ, guitar and drums, "Organ’Voice" with singer, the gospel choir "Glory Singers", "Ernst Halter Organ Jazz Duo" and others.
