Justin Carroll
Dublin-born Justin Carroll started playing music at a young age studying piano and guitar. At the age of 16, having been gripped by the jazz bug, he purchased a Hammond C-3 organ. Since then, Justin has toured internationally with Van Morrison playing in the U.S and Europe. In Ireland he has performed with such visiting jazz musicians as Bobby Watson (alto sax), Keith Copeland (drums), Jim Mullen (guitar), Ronnie Cuber (baritone sax), Gerard Presencer (trumpet/flugelhorn). He is also a member of guitarist Louis Stewart's Trio.

Justin played with an organ trio "Organics", featuring some of Dublin's finest guitarist John Moriarty and drummer Kevin Brady. They have toured extensively in Ireland and in 2005 released their debut CD "New Light".

In 2003, Carroll achieved a Masters degree from Trinity College Dublin in Music Technology, studying composition with Donnacha Dennehy, Roger Doyle and Fergus Johnson. His written thesis was on the effects of the Leslie Cabinet invented by Don Leslie, and featured a composition which demonstrates some of these effects, such as the Doppler Shift. The composition "Helicopter Duo", an electronic piece for two performers to rotate manually two hand-held speakers attached to rope, was performed in Dublin at the Crash Ensemble Festival and the RTE Living Music Festival 2004.
