John Taylor
John Taylor (* 1942), a self taught piano player, was basicly influenced by Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock. His style turned to be more romantic what led to a very prosperous cooperation with Norma Winstone, his later wife. In the late 70's he, Norma and Kenny Wheeler formed the trio Azimuth which became best knwon. John played together also with Jan Garbarek, John Surman and Ronnie Scott. Taylor was not the typical organ player, the piano is his first choice. John passed away in July 2015.
