Howard Blake
Howard (*1938 in London) is a composer, pianist, and conductor. He grew up in Brighton, at age 18 winning a scholarship to The Royal Academy of Music where he studied piano and composition. His most famous score is undoubtedly that composed for the animated film "The Snowman" with its iconic song "Walking in the Air". He is most known to the general public for his radiant score for the animated short The Snowman. Howard is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and received the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth II for services to music.
