Martin Meixner
Martin (born in 1981 in Ulm) took his first classical piano lessons at the age of 5. Inspired by his father, a bigband and jazz musician, he later got very interested in jazz music, and in 1994, he began to study the jazz piano.
 
In 2002, he became a student of Jörg Reiter, lecturer for jazz piano at the Musikhochschule in Mannheim. During this period, Martin attended to various workshops with teachers such as Thomas Stabenow, Jose Cortijo, Michael Küttner, Tom van der Geld, Frank Kuruc, Pat Bianchi, Peter Bernstein, Derreck Gardner, Lewis Nash, Brad Leali, Rob Bargad.
 
Among his numerous performances, Martin also played with famous musicians such as Michael Bublé, Helen Schneider, Cassandra Steen, Joo Kraus, Barbara Dennerlein, Peter Bernstein, Tom Gaebel, Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Cherry Gehring, Renee Olstead, Michael Sagmeister, Daniel Messina, Peter Lehel, Torsten de Winkel, Bobby Shew, and Andy Haderer.
 
His current projects include: mit4spiel5 - organic jazz thing, Cassandra Steen, Fabiano Pereira, Earth Lounge, Steffen Waltenberger, Since 2005, he is working as a freelance piano and Hammond organ player and. He frequently performs as part of different bands in several European countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, Croatia, and Czechy.
 
Martin was winner of the international competition „Startbahn Jazz 2008“ with his band „mit4spiel5“ in Straubing/Germany.
