Leo Genovese
Leo (*1979 in Venado Tuerto) is a jazz pianist. He received his first piano lessons from his mother, who played classical piano. He later studied classical piano at the Universad Nacional de Rosario before moving to the Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2001, where he studied with Danilo Pérez and Joanne Brackeen, among others. After graduating in 2003, he began a career as a professional musician and composer and worked with Hal Crook, George Garzone, Joe Lovano, Phil Grenadier, Dave Santoro, Chris Cheek, Jack DeJohnette and Ben Monder, among others.
 
Leo has worked in the trio Chromatic Guachos with Joe Hunt and Justin Purtill, later with Dave Zinno and Bob Gullotti, with whom he recorded the trio album Planet Savety for Soul Note in 2010. With his own trio, which included Demian Cabaud and Francisco Mela, he released the album Trippeiros in 2017. He also worked on albums by Esperanza Spalding and Daniele Germani.
